Mary & Ray

I photographed my friend Mary's wedding on August 2nd, 2008 just outside of Naniamo, BC. It was an outdoor wedding that was held on a piece of property they have with their family.

Ashley & Brandon

I photographed Ashley and Brandon's wedding with Eunice Montenegro from FunkyTown Photography on July 26th, 2008.

Trisha & Ryan

I shot Trisha and Ryan's wedding in Shawnigan, BC with fellow FunkyTown Associate Julie Norcott on July 12th. We shot the wedding in a 100% photojournalistic style as they were having a Trash the Dress session the next day with Eunice and Christina.

I have to say this wedding is one of my favorite weddings I have shot so far. Trisha & Ryan are the cutest couple I have ever met and you can tell they're head over heals in love with each other.

They were having a Catholic wedding and sometimes you aren't allowed to take photos during the ceremony, so when we got to the church, we talked it over with the staff there and found out we were allowed to take photos as long as we stayed in the back and didn't move.....or so we thought! Turns out there was a communication error between us and the staff. Once the ceremony started we both picked our spots at the back and began shooting. But then one of the staff members got a little mad and told us that we were warned there was no photography at ALL, and to sit down. I was mortified because Trisha and Ryan had no idea we were just sitting in the back watching the ceremony take place!

Then later on in the day they realized that the cake was never delivered. It was ordered from a bakery in Victoria and had apparently gotten into an accident on the Malahat and was ruined. If I had been the bride I would have been devastated, but not Trisha. The only thing that mattered to these two, was that they are getting married and all their loved ones were there to witness it. But rest assured they did get to cut a cake. They had this fabulous caterer, whose name I can't remember or I would give him a plug, went and got an angel food cake and made it look amazing with fruit, flowers and drizzled chocolate.

So all in all, even after a few mishaps it was a great day spent with an amazingly loving and fun couple. They even had a sundae making station......How cool is that??
